Trustees continued to boost the police presence on Aledo ISD campuses last week by voting to upgrade Officer Tom Kelly to full-time status and hire another full-time officer, effective for the 2013-14 school year.
The funding for the one-and-one-half positions will be included in next year’s budget,
The district hired Kelly, assigned to Coder Elementary, in February, along with Officer Wes Cummins, whose coverage area includes McAnally Intermediate and Stuard Elementary.

Teens arrested for throwing rocks on interstate
Two 14-year-old boys are facing charges after reportedly throwing rocks at passing vehicles on Interstate 20 Tuesday afternoon, damaging trucks and injuring a woman.
