— ALEDO – Beth Smiley Becker, 58, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013.

Service is 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at the Aledo Christian School Gym, 400 Queen St. (under the Aledo water tower) with Rev. Tommy Briggs officiating. A private interment will follow. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel in Weatherford.

Beth was born March 21, 1955, to Tom and Barbara Smiley in Nashville, Tenn. She was a longtime resident and graduate of Aledo, a member of Aledo Christian Center and of Lusaka Community Church in Lusaka, Zambia. Beth served alongside her husband as a missionary in Kenya and Zambia from 1990 until 2013. She is now home with the Lord.

She leaves behind her husband of 36 years, Dr. David Becker, of Aledo; sons, Caleb Becker and wife, Ale, of Aledo/Washington, D.C., Joshua Becker and wife, Alex, of Glendale, Ariz./Lusaka, Zambia, and Scott Becker and fiancé Emi Phillips of Tulsa, Okla./Lusaka, Zambia; parents, Tom Smiley and wife, Barbara, of Aledo; sisters, Aledo Mayor Kit Marshall (twin sister) and husband, Hugh, of Aledo, Laura Paulk and husband, Larry, of Denver, N.C., and B.J. Goins and husband, Ron, of Round Rock; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends around the world.
