Candidate forums set for May 10 election

Weatherford Democrat

— The East Parker County Chamber of Commerce Legislative Affairs Committee will host a Candidates’ Forum at 7 p.m. Monday, April 28, in the cafeteria of Trinity Christian Academy, 4954 East Interstate 20 Service Rd S, Willow Park. Doors will open to the public at 6:30 p.m.

The purpose of this nonpartisan forum is to allow voters to become more familiar with the candidates running for positions in the upcoming city council races in Willow Park and Annetta as well as Aledo ISD School Board elections.

The EPCCC forum will be conducted in a structured format with predetermined questions, which will allow the candidates to present their views and vision on the role of the position for which they are running and their qualifications for that office.

No questions will be allowed from the floor. Candidates will be available before the forum in the lobby and will have information tables set up with campaign materials.

The forum will present candidates for Willow Park City Council Place 3, 4 and 5; Annetta Place 2; and the Aledo ISD School Board Place 6 and Place 7.

Moderators for the forum are Darcy Young, EPC Legislative Affairs Committee Chair and Kathy Meyer, EPC Board of Directors.

Aledo City Council candidates' forum

The candidates for the two contested City of Aledo races are not participating in the Chamber forum, but will instead have their own candidates’ forum at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, in the Daniel Ninth Grade Center on the Aledo High School campus. The forum will also include the AISD School Board candidates.
