Letter to the Editor: Thank you!

Weatherford Democrat

— Dear Editor,

The City of Aledo and Aledo Economic Development Corporation would like to send our sincere gratitude to all who made the Chili Supper and Silent Auction a sensational memory. Special thanks to the remarkable chili cook team of Mr. Terry Hyles, Mike Hale and Chad Bagley. Job well done! Not to mention our servers, Judge Mark Riley and Mayor Kit Marshall.

The Aledo community appreciates all businesses and individuals who donated to the silent auction. The Aledo 4H Club lead by Tina Stephens along with a small group of AISD students did an amazing job volunteering at the event. Your assistance and dedication to the Aledo community reflects a sense of accountability from our younger generations that makes us extremely proud.

The delicious desserts were donated by Lee-Ann Edwards, Leta Eastman, Tina Bagley, Helen Hyles, Lilian Haile, Barbara Milton and Dub Bearden. The sweets were rich, flavorsome and left an everlasting heavenly taste for all to look forward to in years to come.

Additional thanks goes to the Careity Foundation, Chicken Express, Taco Casa and Bakers Ribs.

The Aledo slogan, Rich Heritage, Dynamic Future will carry on for years. From our community elders to generations to come, a perfect example of inspiring leadership was displayed at the Chili Supper. The love for Aledo, the dedication, the importance of Aledo’s legacy was present no matter who you came into contact with.

Dating back to the late 1970’s, Terry Hyles and friends have been providing beef, venison and antelope Chili for all to enjoy. They have also created and continue to raise funds to create a gathering place for community residents and leaders to unite and share stories. 100% of all proceeds went to the Aledo Community Center maintenance and renovations.
