Aledo ISD trustees recognized outgoing PTO president Kitty France last week for stepping in to resolve major issues with the district’s Parent Teacher Organization.
“We needed a leader, and that leader had to have an impeccable reputation in our community,” Deputy superintendent Lyn McKinney said.
France rose to the challenge even though her children had graduated and she had served for years as PTO president, McKinney said. She remarked that this year, PTO sold $96,000 worth of school supplies — as a service — for kids in grades K-8. “Your countless hours of worry and work and dedication and organization have once again made PTO an organization that we are all proud of,” McKinney said.
