Weatherford College schedules meningitis vaccination clinic

For students required to receive meningitis vaccinations before entering college this fall, Weatherford College has scheduled a clinic Monday, Aug. 5, at the WC Doss Student Center on the Weatherford campus.

College officials outlined the vaccination requirements:

• Students under 30 registering for college must show proof of meningitis vaccination within the last five years.

• Those entering an institution of higher learning for the first time or returning after an absence of one or more semesters are required to show proof. The vaccination must be received within 10 days prior to the beginning of the fall semester.

The clinic will be conducted by the Parker County Hospital District, and the cost is $90. Insurance will be accepted – BCBS, Aetna, United Health Care – and the applicable co-pay will required.
