Churches plan for Vacation Bible School

Several Aledo churches will offer Vacation Bible Schools this summer. Following are a few listings:



June   

Aledo United Methodist Church, Oak at Pecan Street, Aledo, will offer VBS from 9 a.m.-noon June 18-21 for upcoming pre-K through 4th grade. This year’s theme is “Everywhere Fun Fair - where God’s world comes together!” The program explores God’ love, how to be a good neighbor and the everyday life of neighbors around the world. A Missions Camp is available for fifth and sixth graders. Go to aledoumc.org to view the webpage and complete online registration.



First Baptist Church Aledo, 128 Elm St., Aledo, will present “The Topsy Turvy Kingdom” from 9:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. June 24-27. Children age three through those who have completed sixth grade are invited to attend. Activities include Bible study, arts and crafts, recreation, music and snacks. July

Faith Presbyterian Church, 301 Bailey Ranch Road, Aledo, will present “Beach Party — Surfin’ Through the Scriptures” from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. July 8-11. Children age three as of Sept. 1 through those who have completed fourth grade are invited to attend. To register, go to www.faithaledo.com.



Holy Redeemer Catholic Parish, 16250 Old Weatherford Road, Aledo, will host VBS from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. July 8-11. The theme is “Kingdom Rock — where kids stand strong for God.” Children age four through those entering the sixth grade are invited to attend the event, which will offer dinner, crafts, a games/imagination station, a Bible story and songs. The cost is $15 per child and includes a music CD and T-shirt. For more information, go to www.holyredeemeraledo.org.

 

The Summit, a fellowship of St. Paul Lutheran Church, 111 Maverick St., Aledo, begins its July 9-11 VBS with a light meal at 5:30 p.m., followed by activities from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.. Families can participate together or kids — age three through those who have completed fourth grade — can go on their own. This year’s theme is “Kingdom Rock — where kids stand strong for God.” The event will include crafts, snacks, Bible lessons and outdoor activities involving water. A nursery is available upon request. Register on the church website, at www.the-summit.org or by filling out a form at the church.



Aledo Church of Christ, 201 S FM Road 1187, will offer “God’s Backyard Bible Study,” which teaches how to serve God, family and community, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. July 29-31.
