April marks the nation’s “Month of the Military Child,” a time to honor youth impacted by deployment. In celebration, Texas Operation: Military Kids (OMK), part of the 4-H Youth Development program of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Services, invites Aledo ISD to join the third annual “Purple Up! For Military Kids.”
Last year there was tremendous support for Aledo ISD’s inaugural Purple Up! for Military Kids day. This year, military kids and their families will be honored Monday, April 15.
Aledo ISD is encouraging all students, staff and teachers to wear purple to show support and thank military children for their strength and sacrifices. Purple is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military, as it is the combination of Army green, Coast Guard blue, Air Force blue, Marine red and Navy blue.
