CASA seeks award dinner sponsors for its advocates

CASA-Hope for Children, formerly CASA of Palo Pinto and Parker Counties, is preparing for its Seventh Annual Advocate Awards Dinner and is reaching out to the community for support.

With a small staff and 100 trained volunteers, CASA offers critical advocacy service in the court system to 317 Palo Pinto and Parker county foster children. CASA is asking the community to support its volunteer advocates by sponsoring one or more at the awards dinner.

“Your generosity could help provide these volunteers with the spirit and motivation to continue on to help the CASA children with safety, love and most of all hope for a brighter future,” said Trisha Duke, recruiter and trainer for CASA-Hope for Children. “It would take just $100 to sponsor one volunteer advocate for the awards dinner, but any donation amount would be appreciated.”

CASA, which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate, serves as the eyes and ears of the judge in cases concerning children who have been removed from their home as a result of abuse or neglect. These volunteer advocates completed 30 hours of training and courtroom observation before being sworn in by a judge and becoming an officer of the court.

If you are interested in sponsoring an advocate for the awards dinner, contact the CASA office at 817-599-6224.
