John Ashley White III

HUDSON OAKS – John Ashley White III, 53, beloved husband, father, son and brother, died Jan. 24, 2014, in his home surrounded by family and friends.

Memorial service is 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at New River Fellowship, 3252 E. Interstate 20, Hudson Oaks, TX 76087; 817-341-7970.

John Ashley White III was born Dec. 1, 1960, in Norfolk, Va. He was raised and graduated high school in Warner Robins, Ga. He was a member of the class of 1979, and well-known as a wonderful football player. John also played football at Jacksonville State College in Jacksonville, Ala. After that he joined the United States Air Force. this is what brought him to Texas, where he fell in love with Connie, who became his beloved wife of 24 years. They had two beautiful children together. John later opened U.S. Steam and successfully ran the business for many years.

John was a loving and devoted husband and father. He loved coaching youth soccer in Weatherford. John also enjoyed playing golf with his buddies. He loved being at the lake and fishing with his family and friends. John and Connie have always opened their hearts and home to everyone who crossed their paths.

Survivors include his loving wife, Connie Stevens White, of Weatherford; son, Kane Austin White, of Weatherford; daughter, Ashley Lynn White, of Weatherford; father, John Ashley White Jr. (Donna), of Macon, Ga.; mother, Sue Shepard Giddens (Terry), of Warner Robins, Ga.; brother, Jeffery Scott White (Karen), of Juliette, Ga.; and many other loving family members and beloved friends.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Cheryl Denise White and Allison White Rowe; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Ashley White Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Olan Shepard; and uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Olan Shepard Jr.

In lieu of usual remembrances, a donation may be made in John’s memory at First Financial Bank of Weatherford, 101 N. Main St., Weatherford, TX 76086; 817-596-9621.

    A volunteer Hudson Oaks firefighter is in the Parker County Jail on charges he repeatedly sexually assaulted two young relatives over a several year period. 

    Richard Frederick Adams Sr., 62, arrested Monday, faces two charges of continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, a first-degree felony.

  • ESD 1, Annetta South close on fire station site

    Parker County Emergency Services District No. 1 and Annetta South officials said Tuesday that the ESD is homing in on a site for a new fire station to serve residents in the Annettas and surrounding areas. Annetta South is expected to consider a zoning change to accommodate a new station next month.
