Stuff a basket for the East Parker County Library

Weatherford Democrat

— By Judy Sheridan

East Parker County Library board members are busily preparing for their 10th Annual Garden Party, and they could use some help stuffing baskets for the silent auction.

The board is asking supporters to donate small items — including gift cards and coupons — related to golf, new babies, meditation/spa, sports, teens, teachers, gardeners, pets, coffee, candy, travel or cooks.

The filled baskets will be wrapped in cellophane and displayed in the library — accompanied by bid sheets — beginning Friday, May 10, then go to the Garden Party for final bids.

All are invited to attend the event, set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at the A.J. Pioneer Home, 1279 Jenkins Road in Aledo. Tickets are priced at $15 per individual or $35 per family.

The event includes a BBQ lunch, music by Clear Fork Jazz, a crazy hat contest, free flowers, a petting zoo, a book sale and art activities and stories for children.
