Fore-the-Kids golf tourney April 24 at Canyon West

Sponsorship opportunities and team registrations are available for the April 24 Fore-the-Kids Golf Tournament, which benefits CASA–Hope for Children.

This third annual event will be held at the Canyon West Golf Course with chairpersons George and Amy Mercer and co-chair John Forrest, county attorney for Parker County.

CASA – Hope for Children consists of dedicated volunteers advocate for children who have been removed from their home due to abuse and/or neglect in Parker and Palo Pinto counties. Currently local CASA volunteers are advocating for 205 children in Parker County and 130 children in Palo Pinto County.

The third annual Fore-the-Kids Golf Tournament is organized by the Friends of CASA group. This fundraising event will see teams compete for top prizes, including a trophy for each of the top three teams, a longest drive trophy, and a closest-to-the-pin trophy.

The April 24 tournament begins with a noon lunch, sponsored by Fire Oak Grill. Shotgun start for play is at 1 p.m. A dinner will follow the conclusion of the tournament. Awards and door prizes will be handed out following dinner.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available, ranging from a $5,000 platinum; $2,500 gold; $1,500 silver sponsors; to a $25 CASA Pals sponsorship. Currently, top sponsor of the tournament is Jerry Durant Auto Group.

Teams and individuals may register for tournament play on the 18-hole course at Canyon West. A team of four is $400 and an individual player is $100.

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) provides screened, then specially trained, volunteers who represent and serve as advocates for children in the foster care system. CASA – Hope for Children is a non-profit organization that receives funding through United Way, grants, and community fundraisers.
