Charles & Nelda Sullivan celebrate 65th anniversary

Charles and Nelda Sullivan of Weatherford, Texas, will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at Eureka Baptist Church. The couple was married Dec. 18, 1943, in Eastland County.

A party will be hosted by the couple’s grandchildren from 2 to 4 p.m. at 401 Eureka St. Friends and family are welcome to come help celebrate. No gifts, please.

The couple retired from their insurance agency. Charles is a former mayor of Weatherford, Kiwanis Club past president, served 4 years on COG and helped start Little League Baseball in Weatherford. He is now a men’s class Sunday school teacher and Deacon at Eureka Baptist Church.

Besides raising six boys, Nelda was manager of their insurance agency until retirement.

Together they have managed Aspen Park Guest Ranch at Red River, N.M. each summer for the past 15 years.

The couple has three sons, three adopted sons, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Charlie and Nelda have lived in Weatherford since the 1950s, with a few years in Irving during the ’60s.
