Rodens celebrate 60 years

Jimmie and Doris Ann Roden will be celebrating 60 years of marriage. The couple met through Jimmie’s sister, Betty Jo, who also was Ann’s best friend. On June 20, 1953, the couple was united in marriage in Mineral Wells, Texas. Their home has always been in Weatherford, Texas, where they still reside today. Jimmie and Ann have three children: Ricky Dale Roden (passed away in June 2000), Marilyn Sparks and Susan Roden. In addition, they have four grandchildren, one great granddaughter and another great grandchild expected any day now.

Jimmie and Ann started their journey believing they would always be together for the rest of their lives and based their relationship on trust in each other. A celebration is planned in honor of their 60th wedding anniversary to be held Saturday, June 15 from 2-4 p.m. at the couple’s home at 712 Liberty Street in Weatherford. Friends and family are invited to come by to share in this joyful occasion.
