A Little Bit of Everything

Weatherford Democrat

Kris Hurley and Natalie Mynar know a “Little Bit of Everything.” They should, as it’s their business to.

The business opened full-time in January, after Hurley closed her cleaning company. Little Bit of Everything actually opened in January 2013 but was closed for a time so Hurley could focus on the cleaning business. She decided late last year to drop the cleaning business and go with the resale and accessories boutique fulltime.

As with any business, things are always changing in order to stay fresh. She brought on Mynar, a floral designer who she has known “forever,” to do arrangements. Mynar said she also does wedding decoration and has planned a number of events and decorated homes and businesses, including Snow Garrett Williams.

Mynar said she is an authorized retailer of Arthur Court, a type of serviceware that is both freezer and microwave safe. She thinks working with Hurley in a store with lots of different items will be a good thing.

“I like to change things up, like she does,” Mynar said. “Putting different items out and rotating a lot of different things out when the weather is good. People decorate for the seasons and a store does too.”

Hurley said she will be starting an e-cigarette business inside the store in the near future, saying there is no place for that on the north side of Weatherford where the business is located. Many of the items are handmade or have been collected over the years with another four rooms of items for the store available if the space can be found. There are a number of crosses that have different styles or have fabric over them that always draw a lot of attention, Hurley said.

“Crosses are kind of my passion,” Hurley said. “I like fabric crosses because they are kind of unusual and not something that everyone else has got.”

Hurley said she spent two days on one cross in particular making sure it was just right. She enjoys working on the building itself as well, doing all the painting inside the store and also doing some outside work in the flower beds to keep the outside from looking like a “yard sale.” She does contend she can make something for everyone, wanting to turn a nearby building into a workshop to do just that.

Also being started in the next few months is a monthly event called Girlfriends’ Night Out. Working with Neil Kennedy at Twisted Snifter, it is hoped it will give more people a chance to see everything the pair have inside and hopefully expand their clientele.

The pair are also working on creating space for Rhinestones by Rosebud and for floral designer Lisa Tapp. The store also has a full body massage chair which can be used for up to 30 minutes at a time to work out life’s little kinks and a pair of European Body Shapers.

Little Bit of Everything is located at 1904 FM 51 North, just south of Ric Williamson Memorial Highway. The store is noon to 7 p.m. Monday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. For information, call 817-654-5359.
