Tom’s Donuts, located at 408B S. Main St. in Weatherford, has a new management team in place hoping to keep the business doing well.

The husband and wife team of Sue and Jea Park took over last month and have brought in some friends of their to help them. The couple are no strangers to donuts and other morning edibles, working at stores in Dallas and Royse City as well. Sue Park, who handles the front of the house area while her husband, works in the back, having made donuts for 12 years, says the couple took over because it was felt the Weatherford store needed more business.

In the short time under new management, Sue Park says she likes Weatherford real well because it is quiet with good people. Even with the other two locations the couple is associated with, they say they will be working in Weatherford seven days a week.

“We’ve brought in some friends to help us here,” Sue Park said. “We’ve got a whole new staff.”

With the all new staff will be coming a new menu board, which was expected to be brought in late last week. The items will be primarily the same with donuts and kolaches highlighting the menu. Park says some of her most popular items include the sausage, egg and cheese kolaches. Many people don’t know kolaches come in other flavors too, such as ham, veggie and veggie with jalapeno.

Park says she hopes to expand some of the items already on the menu and get rid of others that weren’t doing so well, such as the breakfast loaf. Some of the expanded items include seasonal donuts shaped like Cupid or the Easter Bunny, such as for Valentine’s Day and Easter, Park said. Everything is made fresh daily, Park said.

Other new items include croissants in both bacon and sausage flavors. New signage has also been ordered for outside the store and is expected to be hung up in the next few weeks, Sue Park said.

Tom’s Donuts is open daily from 5 a.m. to noon. In an attempt to garner more business, she is offering a 10-percent off special to all groups wishing to make a bulk order.

She said some churches have been taking advantage of the special for Sunday services but wants to offer the special to more people.
