After nearly 14 years of working at different locations on Santa Fe Drive, Cherie Quinn has moved her acupuncture business to a spot just off the downtown square ... and couldn’t be happier about it.
Cherie Quinn Acupuncture and Massage moved its location to 131 W. Church St., Suite 300, on Aug. 13. She said the facility is slightly bigger than her location on Santa Fe Drive. The new location appealed to her because it’s right next door to Indra’s Grace Yoga Studio, which gave her a whole new set of clients.
“People at her studio come over and see me and I’ll send my clients over to see her,” Quinn said. :We’ve been helping each other and it’s been great.
Quinn, a certified acupuncturist for 14 years, spent six years at Better Health Market on Santa Fe before moving to another location on Santa Fe for more than seven years. She has been told her new location, which the owners allowed her to do whatever she wanted with the space, helps clients “feel calm and peaceful.”
She said her business in Weatherford has been very good and continues to grow with the help of more and more people learning about what is involved with acupuncture and its medical benefits.
“Once they learn about me and learn about acupuncture, it’s a great way to get issues resolved,” Quinn said.
Some of the micsonceptions about the health method is that it involves large needles and pain or discomfort. The needles are actually quite small. So small that many first-time clients don’t even know they are there. Quinn spoke of one client that was leary of the procedure. Quinn put the needles in, closed the door for a few minutes and came back to remove the needles. When she was done, the client asked when she was going to start.
