Good fortune

(Continued)

The premise is simple. People who want to express their inner painter can attend one of the many classes, which range from 2 to 3 hours and cost between $35 to $45. More than 3,200 paintings are available for people to create.

Six artists have been hired to help show, step by step, how to create the beautiful work of art. All the paint for each painting is already on a plate and the brushes are supplied, Customers are encouraged to bring their own beverage with glasses only provided, Mayo said.

“We’re definitely not a bar scene, that’s for sure,” Wooster, the party planner of the group, said. “It’s just a way to get a people to express themselves and have a fun time doing it.”

While singles and couples are welcomed in open to the public classes, larger groups are welcomed and encouraged, according to Wooster. Private parties of 10 or more can be booked, including birthday parties, bachelorette parties, school field trips and more.

Some parties have been booked on the corporate level, including team building exercises where each member creates part of the painting and a piece of art is able to be brought back to the office, Wooster said.

Three separate rooms are part of the business, including the large Stampede Studio downstairs, which can hold up to 48 artists. the Longhorn Loft upstairs can accommodate up to 24 people and the Kiddie Korral another 10. Large groups can work in any of the three rooms with everyone working on the same painting, which must be chosen 48 hours in advance to allow the artist a chance to get organized.

The trio also wants to give back to the community as well with a number of events to support charities. A Pink Out event is scheduled for Oct. 19 from 7 to 9 p.m. benefitting breast cancer awareness charities. The more pink being worn means more chances at prizes being offered.

Every month will have a Painting with a Purpose with half the money raised going to a different charity. October’s event, scheduled for Oct. 17, will benefit Children’s Miracle Network.
