Phoenix Lodge #275 150th Celebration

• Phoenix Lodge #275 would like to invite the public to a masonic corner stone leveling at 10am at Weatherford College.

Weatherford Food Hub

• Rotary Club of Weatherford will sponsor the Weatherford Food Hub at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14, at Weatherford Public Library, 1014 Charles Street. 

• Produce bags are $5 each (cash only) and contain 15 or more pieces of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Boomin’ 4th

• This year’s Boomin’ 4th celebrates America’s 238th birthday on July 4 with patriotic music by singing sensation Wynn Williams and the Hazers at 6 p.m., followed by 25 minutes of a choreographed fireworks extravaganza. Fireworks sponsors ARE Jerry’s GM and Charlie Gilchrist Southwest Ford.

• Bring your family and friends, wear your red, white and blue, grab a picnic basket (no glass bottles please) and lawn chairs and head over to Gene L. Voyles Park, 210 N. Lakeshore in Hudson Oaks. 

• The family-fun-filled event will offer festivities for all ages, arts and crafts, face painting, food trucks, and a FUNtastic photo booth! 

• This traditional, patriotic salute is free and open to the community.

An evening of songs and stories

• Couts United Memorial Methodist Church will host “an evening of songs and stories with Jason Gray and Todd Agnew” at 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30.

• Special guest will be “Anthem.”

• Tickets are $12 each and can be purchased by calling 817-629-2943.

• Todd Agnew has written several modern church praise and worship songs, most notably “Grace like rain” and “God undefeatable” and Jason Gray has scored number one on the charts with his huge hit “Remind me who I am” as well as Christian radio staples “More like falling in love” and “lovely losers” among others.

• The concert is a World Vision benefit and is sponsored by theWayWord ministries.

Freedom House Needs bilingual English/Spanish Translators

• Must be able to commit two to four hours at least one weekday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

• Individuals must be at least 18 and complete a satisfactory criminal history check.

• Applicants must be willing to volunteer as a neutral party to assist client advocate with the flow of information to their Spanish-speaking clients. Volunteer interpreters should be willing to work with client advocates to gain some knowledge of what the advocate means, without embellishing or omitting important details.

Flag fund donations, veterans needed

• Since 1999, more than 100,000 flags have been placed on veterans’ graves in Parker County on Memorial Day, Independence Day and Veteran’s Day. 

• Anyone desiring a flag to be placed on a grave or flags for a cemetery may contact the American Legion Post 163 at 817-594-4101 after 5 p.m. or the flag chairman at 817-599-0952.
