WEATHERFORD Weatherford College has announced the hiring of Larry Holman as assistant men’s basketball coach.

Holman, a native of Oklahoma City, played basketball at Atlanta Christian College. He brings coaching experience from Sul Ross State University, the University of Texas at Dallas and Plano East Senior High School.

“I am extremely excited about Coach Holman joining our basketball program,” said Dave Donnelly, WC head men’s basketball coach. “He is very passionate about the game and committed to teaching and mentoring our student-athletes."

Holman earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Langston University and a master’s degree in education from Sul Ross.

“I want to thank Dr. Don Tomas, Dr. Steven Garippa, and Coach Donnelly for giving me this opportunity,” Holman said. “I’m looking forward to becoming a part of the Weatherford College community, and continuing the tradition that has been established at WC.”

Holman and his wife, Michelle, have one daughter, Tamia.
