Query 2008-23
My grandparents, William Franklin GILLEY and Nancy Alice HALL GILLEY are buried in the Springtown cemetery. William’s parents, Ed and Sarah GILLEY are also there as is William’s brother, Tillman GILLEY. I am looking for any information on these people, obits, family trees, pictures, or any record on this GILLEY family. I would like to hear from other descendants to share and exchange family records with.

News from The Daily Herald, Tuesday, Oct. 2, 1928:
“RAILWAY ROUNDHOUSE, THREE LOCOMOTIVES DESTROYED BY FIRE. The round house and machine shops of the Weatherford, Mineral Wells & Northwestern Railway were destroyed by fire early Tuesday morning with a loss estimated at $100,000 or more. Three locomotives were in the round house undergoing repairs, they were damaged maybe beyond repair. All shop equipment and the building were completely destroyed.
“Night Watchman Hastley stated he was in the round house shortly after three o’clock but not in the east part where the washroom was located and believed to have been the starting point. The general office of the railroad company advised Tuesday morning that the destruction will in no way interfere with the regular operation of trains and handling of freight and passenger business will be as usual.
