Music teachers host spring festival

WEATHERFORD – The Weatherford Music Teachers Association sponsored their annual spring solo festival May 2 at Weatherford College. There were more than 100 students participating for ribbons and trophies and they were prepared for the event by 11 teachers: Paul and Stacy Andrews, Kathy Briggs, Leah Flippin, Kathryn Hamilton, Holly and Russell Hughes, Marialice Parish, Kriszta Kovacs Tubbs, Emily and Liz Wynne.

Two honor recitals were held for those students making a superior plus rating during the festival, and students received a purple ribbon and a trophy at these recitals.

Students who performed in the first recital were: front row, Alyssa Hickerson, Lauren Lykins, Sarah Ladehoff, Maria Nguyen, Pierce Morris; second row, Brayton Mitchell, Jeremy Petosa, Martha Pool, Bethany Rothrock, Abby Losos; third row, Kyle Wiggs, Parker Gordon, James Spencer. Students who performed in the second recital were: front row, Harrison Tillman, Brendan Tillman, Alerah Turpin, Cate Shelton, Jaelle Carlson, Lauren Grace Rodgers, Sam Birdwell, Haley Granier; second row, Holly Hamiter, Zachary Hughes, Jeremiah Carlson, Amanda Adkisson, Gabrielle Bruner, Hannah Frailey, Madison Granier, Caleb Hughes; third row, Sariah Harmer, Elizabeth Ramsey, Jordan Wood, Noah Patty, Brooke Byles, Sarah Morehead, Elizabeth Allanach, Katie McCullough.
