High winds apparently took the roof off Vicky Pierce’s barn and caused damage to her home Sunday night.
Pierce, who lives near the intersection of Trinity Ranch Road and Cleburne Highway south of Weatherford, said she heard a loud bang on both sides of her house during the stormy weather. She later found large pieces of her barn’s metal roof in her back and front yards and rain coming into a bedroom through a hole in the roof, apparently made by the flying sheets of metal and wood.
Her horses were not injured.
Downed trees and large tree limbs were also apparent in the neighborhood but the wind damage appeared to be isolated as the National Weather Service said it had no reports of wind damage in Parker County due to the storm.
