WEATHERFORD — WEATHERFORD — Lauren Chambers, of Millsap, drew the winning ticket for the Doss Heritage and Culture Center’s recent fundraiser

Chambers, about to begin one of the Doss Center’s summer children’s programs — this one in needlework — selected the name of the person who bought the first ticket from board member Carolyn Glenn: Pat Hamilton of Weatherford.

Hamilton, president of the Weatherford branch of Plains Capital Bank, has a long-standing relationship with the Doss family through banking and friendship.

“I’m just delighted to further strengthen that bond,” he said. “Of course, Sharon and I are happy to support the Doss Center’s activities and programs, and I am especially honored that one of the children taking a class at the center this summer actually drew my name. The children’s educational programming at the Doss has become an important aspect of its offerings.”

Hamilton’s winning ticket allows him to select from several trips, including a four-day trip to Napa, Calif.; a Caribbean or Alaskan cruise; or a week’s stay in Paris, France.

James May, DHCC Board president, said he was “very satisfied,” he said, with the fundraiser.
