Trinity Christian Academy announces open enrollment for February

By JESSICA SIMS | Special to the Democrat

Trinity Christian Academy is excited to announce open enrollment dates to the public for the 2013-14 school year.

Pre-K enrollment began Feb. 4, and enrollment for students entering kindergarten through 12th grade begins Monday.

“Each year, I look forward to this exciting time as the TCA family begins partnering with area families in preparation for the upcoming school year,” Chief Administrator Michael Skaggs said.

Pre-kindergarten classes are available to children turning 4 years old by Sept. 1, 2013. Two five-day (Monday through Friday) classes will be offered. These pre-K classes begin at 8:20 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m. The kindergarten program at TCA offers two full-day classes from 8:20 a.m. to 3:05 p.m..

TCA has an afternoon program for pre-K students called “Stay-and-Grow” for families desiring programing for their children from 12:30 p.m. to 3:05 p.m.

“Teachers enrich pre-K student learning, and the students grow in their social skills and Bible knowledge. I love to be a part of an elementary school which truly teaches the whole child – mind, body and spirit,” elementary principal Lyricia Squyres said.

Currently, TCA offers two classes per grade for grades one through 12. “It is so exciting to see TCA’s enrollment continue to climb in the high school grades,” Skaggs said, “Because TCA has grown so much in the last 20 years, a new secondary building has just been completed. The original campus houses all elementary classes along with the elementary library and enrichment classrooms for music, computer, art and Spanish.”

The new secondary building offers many opportunities to the faculty and students not previously available due to space restrictions. The first floor includes a cafeteria with full kitchen, weight room, a front office with lobby area and a competition gymnasium. The second floor houses an art room, media center, additional classrooms, and several office areas for the nurse, counselor and secondary office staff. The third floor includes biology, chemistry, and computer labs as well as several more academic classrooms.

TCA is dedicated to enriching students’ lives by utilizing small classrooms and a Bible-based curriculum. Classes are limited to 22 students in the secondary classes and 18-20 in the elementary classes.

Openings are available in several grades, but are limited. Contact TCA at 817-441-7901 (elementary) or 817-441-5897 (secondary) for additional information on enrollment or to set an admissions interview with an administrator, or visit www.tcaeagles.org for more information.
