TCA open enrollment dates set

By JESSICA SIMS

WILLOW PARK – Trinity Christian Academy in Willow Park is pleased to announce open enrollment dates to the public for the 2014-15 school year.

Pre-kindergarten enrollment opens Feb. 3, and enrollment for students entering kindergarten through 12th grade begins Feb. 10.

“Each year, I look forward to this exciting time when our school opens its arms to new partnerships with area families as we all look forward to another great school year,” TCA Head of School Michael Skaggs said.

Pre-kindergarten classes are available to children turning four years old by Sept. 1, 2014. Two five-day (Monday through Friday) classes will be offered. Pre-K classes begin at 8:20 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m. An afternoon “Stay-and-Grow” program is offered for families desiring continued programing for their pre-K child from 12:30 p.m. to 3:05 p.m.

The TCA kindergarten program offers two full-day classes from 8:20 a.m. to 3:05 p.m.

“Teachers enrich pre-K student learning, and the students grow in their social skills and Bible knowledge. I love to be a part of an elementary school that truly teaches the whole child: mind, body and spirit,” elementary principal Lyricia Squyres said.

Currently, TCA offers two classes per grade.

“It is rewarding to see TCA’s enrollment continue to climb, especially in the high school grades,” Skaggs said.

A new secondary building with a 10,000-square-foot competition gym was completed in 2011 to accommodate recent growth. The original campus has also undergone renovation and houses elementary grades along with enrichment classrooms for music, computer, art, library and Spanish.

Several exciting changes have come to the TCA secondary campus over the past few years. One noteworthy transition is the addition of Ken Nobles as secondary principal in 2013.

“I feel blessed to be a part of Trinity Christian Academy,” Nobles said. “We have excellent teachers who care for each and every student they teach. Enrollment is always an exciting and encouraging time of year simply because I believe in the mission of this school and the people who make it such a special place. It’s a pleasure to introduce new families into such an environment.”
