Hall Middle School students win 22 UIL medals, ribbons

— Hall Middle School’s UIL academic competitors brought home 22 medals and ribbons from Saturday’s UIL Academic Meet.

Approximately 62 students representing their school competed in various events from speaking to writing competitions.

Individual winners from Hall Middle School were:

Grade 7

Ready Writing – Daelyn Bassham, second place; Riley Ross, third place.

Oral Reading – Rheanna White, first place.

Modern Oratory – Preston Porter, first place.

Dictionary – Kalynn Alexander, sixth place.

Maps, Graphs & Charts – Abigail Gilbert, second place; Madison Mees, third place.

Science I – Daelyn Bassham, third place.

Grade 8

Spelling – Avery Bullock, first place.

Impromptu Speaking – Zack Swain, second place.

Oral Reading – Clara Tolleson, first place; Haley James, fifth place.

Modern Oratory – Rebecca Phillips, fifth place.

Dictionary – Garrett Hamilton, first place

Listening – Julia Avery, fourth place; Kaitlyn Alexander, sixth place.
