WCS students advance to Area Math Olympics competition

— Selected Weatherford Christian Schol elementary and junior high students competed in the District ASCI Math Olympics before the Christmas holidays.

All of these students did really well and are to be commended for their work in both computation and in reasoning.

Nine students received a “good” rating; 16 students received an “excellent” rating; and 3 students received a “superior” rating.

Five of these students qualified to compete in the Area Math Olympics. Fifth grader Sarah Tanner received a superior rating and took fourth place overall in the district reasoning competition. Sixth grader Jade Hebbert received a superior rating and took second place overall in the District Reasoning competition. Eighth grader Scotlyn Ogle received an excellent rating in the District Computation competition. Eighth grader Joseph Shinsky received an excellent rating and took fourth place overall in the District Computation competition. Eighth grader Ethan Plevak received a superior rating and took third place overall in the Computation competition.
