Blue Belles named grand champions at Showtime International competition

CARROLLTON – Weatherford High School’s Blue Belles traveled to R.L. Turner High School in Carrollton on Feb. 9 for the Showtime International DFW Championship.

The Belles received Sweepstakes and Judges awards on all three routines and first place in Pom, Military and Prop. The Belles were also awarded the Applause award for crowd appeal for their prop routine.

The Blue Belle officers were awarded Sweepstakes and Judges awards and took first place in Pom, Kick and Jazz. The Belles were named grand champion of the entire contest.

In addition to the team awards, the Belles had six Division I soloists including Natalie Hinrichs, Shannon Bronson, Hayley Munnell, Haley Barnes, Abbie Korenek, and Kayla Plocar. Natalie Hinrichs received second place. Shannon Bronson was the solo champion. Natalie Hinrichs also received the Miss High Kick award.

The Belles travel to Denton High School this weekend for their second competition of the season.
