WCS prepares for open enrollment period
Weatherford Christian School is quickly approaching open enrollment for the 2014-15 school year and new families will be able to enroll beginning Monday, March 3, at 8 a.m. But now is the time to schedule a family tour to see firsthand what the local nondenominational Christian school has to offer.
Weatherford College staff honored for service
Of all the employees honored at Weatherford College’s Awards Dinner Friday night, Sheila Kinkead was the most fun to watch. While the employees receiving expected service awards were happy, Kinkead was truly surprised – stunned, even – when she heard her name announced as Weatherford College’s Staff Member of the Year.
WC Occupational Therapy Assistant program receives full accreditation
Weatherford College’s new Occupational Therapy Assistant program has received the stamp of approval from the American Occupational Therapy Association Inc., an organization founded in 1923 whose purpose is to review and evaluate such programs in higher education.
GED graduation Sunday at WC
The Weatherford College Testing Center will hold its General Educational Development graduation ceremony at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Jerry Durant Auditorium at Weatherford High School on Bethel Road.

Weatherford Christian School Board of Directors unanimously voted at last month’s board meeting to induct two new members, Judy Flanagin and Michael Lum.
Hall students take part in Poetry Slam
Young spoken word artists from Hall Middle School recited their original poems and ignited the audience with finger snaps, claps and encouragement from the more experienced poets who urged them from the audience to “Go in, poet!” during the the Third Annual Sik’ lik Youth Poetry Slam in the Moudy Auditorium at Texas Christian University.

Weatherford ISD Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Hanks announced Friday afternoon that Carrie Harrison, assistant principal at Seguin Elementary, is now the principal for Tison Middle School.
