Teacher gets $1,000 in supplies

Curtis Elementary kindergarten teacher Sarah Waller was suprised by OfficeMax Store No. 1184 personnel and office staff members on Tuesday for being selected by Adopt-A-Classroom and OfficeMax as the “A Day Made Better” recipient for Weatherford ISD.

Waller received classroom supplies and resources worth more than $1,000.

OfficeMax and Adopt-A-Classroom teamed together for the “A Day Made Better” program because every year teachers spend an average of $1,000 of their own money on classroom supplies (more than $4 billion annually). Tuesday’s surprise visit was part of a one-day event that awards more than 1,100 teachers with over $1,000 in school supplies and brings awareness to their need.
