I have talked with many residents of Weatherford and a lot of them have asked about getting a cafeteria.
Well, folks; we have a buffet cafeteria at the Golden Corral. The place is full of food. There is a section for salads and fruits. One section is piled high with meats of all kinds and there are vegetables aplenty. If you leave hungry, it’s your own fault. They have an amazing
variety of food. If you want breakfast, they start serving at 7:30 a.m. Think of your favorite breakfast food and they probably have it. Their luncheon buffet is well stocked, too.
Our visit there Monday started off with a salad and fresh fruit. From there, Jim and I picked out servings of chicken, tender beef pot roast, meat loaf and pork strips. We also picked out some green beans, carrots and potatoes. The green beans were especially good. We could have had other vegetables, but our plates were already full and we didn’t want to be greedy.
The wait staff were all friendly and helpful. Our tea glasses were kept full and of course, we feasted on their yummy rolls. Boy are they good. If you want to take some home, they’re available. Buy some, take them home and serve them to your family. Tell them you slaved all day in the kitchen making fresh rolls. I’ll never tell on you. It’ll be our secret.
Seniors can eat there from 2 to 4 p.m. and receive a discount. They have specials during the week on ethnic food. Call and see what days they have Mexican food or Italian or fish. They are also pushing their Angus beef. The dinner filets are delicious. You can get your steak rare, medium or well done. Now that’s something to look forward to.
I talked to Martin Baccarelli, the associate manager. He has been associated with Golden Corral for seven years. He has been in Weatherford one year and said he enjoys the people.
I noticed the food servers were kept busy replenishing the food in each section. The salad ingredients were all fresh and crisp and you couldn’t fail to enjoy all the different types of food available.
The prices are fair for all the food you can get. I saw several men going back for seconds and thirds. One guy was skinny as a rail, but he loaded his plate up three times. I’m sure he didn’t gain an ounce from his luncheon meal.
If you are watching your weight and want to eat healthy, you can also do that at Golden Corral. Just don’t go to the dessert table. That will ruin everything. Jim loved the cinnamon apples. I must admit they were very tasty. We each tasted the lemon meringue pie and it was tart, but also sweet enough. You know how a good lemon pie is supposed to taste.
The Golden Corral is located at 1810 S. Main St., and their phone number is (817) 599-8202. If you have any questions you want answered, give them a call. If you are craving Mexican food, call and see what day it will be featured.
I think you will enjoy your trip to the Golden Corral. We did!
