LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Sick and tired

WEATHERFORD —

Dear Editor:

Do you remember hearing Hillary Clinton screaming, “I am sick and tired of people who say if you debate or disagree with this administration somehow you are not patriotic. We should stand up and say, we are Americans and we have a right to disagree with any administration.” Nancy Pelosi said that the swamp needed to be drained and I agree, but I see she and Senator Reid are still splashing around in the slime.

Clinton told the story of being dead broke when they went to the White House. Do you remember her great success in the cattle futures market? She turned a thousand dollars into almost one hundred thousand. I find it hard to believe that a person that brilliant with a job with a white water investment company would be dead broke. I believe that, instead of being dead broke, a bald faced liar would be more fitting.

I’m sick and tired of folks that float around on their pious angel cloud and say we should let folks come to America illegally. The problem with that mindset is there are radical religious fanatics who want infidels removed from the face of the earth. Contrary to what some say, all that are coming are not children and those looking for work. When a dirty bomb is detonated in a densely populated city, the angels that wanted open borders will be outraged that no one connected the dots.

I’m sick of those that are too blind to see what the philosophy of Karl Marx and Saul Alinksy is doing to this country. Look around the world and observe what has happened to nations that have been foolish enough to try socialism. Do you wonder why people want to come to America? I may have missed something, but I don’t hear people wanting to go to a socialist country to achieve the Cuban dream or the Venezuelan dream. If America is such a rotten greedy capitalist country, why do so many risk their lives to come here? Bono has said that capitalism has raised more people out of poverty than any other system. He said that aid is only temporary. Isn’t it refreshing to see some one like Bono wake up to reality?

  • LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Good company, better service

We would like to thank Devin’s Handyman Service, Gary Boase, David Schramm and James Reed for the wonderful job they did repainting our front fence, front porch, back porch, patio and deck. Everything looks new and makes such a difference in our home.

  • LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Don't judge a book...

Dear Editor: Thursday night, July 17, I was present for a surprisingly interesting experience when state representative candidate Matthew Britt addressed a small group of supporters, followed by a question and answer session.

  • LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Response to 'Blame game'

Dear Editor: It’s not drug cartels telling Central Americans their children won’t be turned away at the border, it is the actions of this administration with its refusal to secure the border and its unilateral rewriting of immigration law. As has been shown, this president and his administration have for some time lied about the security of the border and immigration enforcement.

  • LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Our officials care

I take serious exception to Mr. Jay Cloward’s letter, “Big city, no care” (7/8/14) in which he states that it almost looks like the city wants to become a for-profit company and Weatherford has “become a city too big to care.”

  • LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: What’s so good about President Obama?

I’m proud to live in an America where our great president has passed a health care bill, after five presidents (Republican and Democratic) over the last 50 years tried and failed. I want my America to be a place where not only the rich can receive affordable health care by all citizens alike. Here’s to you, President Obama. It saddens me to hear disrespectful and pernicious comments about the man who holds the highest office of our great country. I hope that good people all across Parker County will join me in prayer for our elected leadership.

  • LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Big city, no care

The City of Weatherford officials have deemed it necessary to increase costs of utilities and taxes so more pet projects can be paid for. This comes from a city that collects money each month for storm runoff during an extended drought.

“It’s a free country!” How many times have you heard that statement?

  • LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Supreme Court decision

Regardless of what the US Supreme Court proclaims,  corporations are not persons. They have special laws by which they must abide and laws that benefit only them.

  • LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Immigration

Why are tens of thousands of children suddenly entering the country from Central America? If it is due to the president and Democrats in Congress’s attempt to give immigration status to the children who were brought into this country illegally by their parents years ago, why isn’t there a flood of Mexican children crossing our southern border? Why just kids from three Central American countries?
