Letter to the editor: Time changes everything

Dear Editor,

On July 3, 2008, Sen. Obama said in a speech to folks in Fargo, N.D., the way Bush has done it over the last eight years was take out a credit card on the Bank of China in the name of our children, raising our debt from $5 trillion to $9 trillion. He added $4 trillion by his lonesome, that we will have to pay back – $30,000 for every man woman and child. That is irresponsible, it is unpatriotic.

Does that sound like the man was telling a whopper just to get elected? President Bush added $4 trillion in eight years. President Obama has added $7 trillion, $955 billion, and $768 million all by his lonesome since January 2009. If what President Bush did was unpatriotic, what would you call nearly $8 trillion added to the debt?

Mr. Tilly asked the question. What are Republicans scared of? The answer to his question is Detroit and a whole host of cities that are bankrupt, or on the brink of disaster. President Obama is accusing the Republicans of not wanting to pay the bills that have been racked up. I just keep wondering who the Republicans were that dug the hole that Detroit finds itself in? Detroit is getting $100 million more dollars of your tax money. It appears to me that you can thank the Democrats for the majority of bankruptcies. What is so difficult to understand about promising more than you can deliver will end in disaster?

The economy would be in much better shape if the Democrats would allow private enterprise to flourish. President thinks that if it is not a job that drains the public treasury, it is not a job. Obama care is the main reason that the economy has been slow to recover. Who is going to hire more workers, or start a new business, when very few know what is in the bill even after it was passed. From what I am hearing, the young people that voted for the president and his affordable health care are going to wish they had never heard of it. I think that people will just roll over and die, when they see how many hoops they have to jump through just to see a doctor, if there are any doctors that will put up with the hassle.

We need to have a class for the Democrats on English comprehension. What is the problem with understanding that the government is fully funded, but Obama care is not funded?

  • Letters to the Editor: Showing respect

Dear Editor, My sister Robbie Benton’s funeral was Friday afternoon at White’s Funeral Home. The gravesite was outside of Mineral Wells. The respect shown by the good folks of Parker County and the surrounding area was overwhelming. I would say at least 90 percent of drivers pulled over in respect of the loss of life.

    Dear Editor,

I have been intrigued about few human rights issues in foreign countries, but look at what exists in the United States.

  • Letters to the Editor: Protecting Medicare Advantage

As one of over 14 million Americans who rely on a Medicare Advantage policy for my medical needs, I know it is crucial for Washington to protect the Advantage program’s budget. The Affordable Care Act already slashed $200 billion from the program. It would be a mistake to dismantle a program that produces better healthcare results than regular Medicare, while often costing seniors much less in the process.

  • Letters To The Editor: Kelly response

In a recent column, William Kelly stated his opposition to abortion and asked the question, “What do you think?” Well, I think we should all publically express our gratitude to CVS for their announced plan to stop selling tobacco products.

  • Letters To The Editor: Entitlement mentality

Traffic law violations seem to be changing. During the 25 years I spent driving in Parker and Tarrant counties, it was usually the young men and women in small sporty cars that ran the red lights, stop and yield signs and regularly grossly exceeded the posted speed limits.

  • Letters to the Editor: Stop the bailout

Dear Editor, The administration and congress knew that ObamaCare would fail but have had a plan all along to bail out the private insurance companies that supported the law with taxpayer money. Of course, this plan was kept hidden from American citizens that are already burdened by taxes. Congress should do everything it can to stop this disastrous bill.
