Brian, Cain exchange vows


Lyndie Brian and Luther Cain Jr. were united in marriage Saturday, March 22, 2014, at First United Methodist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Officiant was Dr. Pat Day.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, David Brian.

The bride is the daughter of David and Linda Brian, of Bossier City, Louisiana.

The groom is the son of Luther Sr. and Sue Cain, of Bossier City, Louisiana.

Maid of honor was Rebecca Brian, of Dallas, sister of the bride. Best man was Luther Cain Sr., of Bossier City, father of the groom.

Bridesmaids were Jill Skaggs, of Bossier City, friend of the bride, Emily Brian, of Lindale, sister-in-law of the bride, Destiny Cain, of Bossier City, sister of the groom, Susan Horn,  of Shreveport, sister of the groom, Dani Harrison, of Haughton, Louisiana, friend of the bride, Erin Bauer, of Destin, Florida, friend of the bride, and Jenny Traweek,  of Bossier City, friend of the bride.

Kennedy Stewart, of Keller, cousin of the bride, served as the flower girl.

Groomsman was Ross Brian, of Lindale, Texas, brother-in-law of the bride.

Ushers were Chris Reich, of Shreveport, Evan McCormick, of Bossier City, and Charlie Harrison, of Haughton, Louisiana.

Ring bearer was Parker Brian, of Lindale, nephew of the bride.

The florist was Mary Bradford, of Weatherford, great aunt of the bride. Reader was Heather Adams, of Shreveport.

After the wedding, a reception was held at Artscape in Shreveport. The couple honeymooned in Dallas.

The Cains reside in Haughton.

The bride is a paralegal for Kammer and Huckabay Law Firm. She is a graduate of Airline High School, in Bossier City, and Louisiana State University in Shreveport.

The groom is a FedEx supervisor. He is a graduate of Airline High School and attended Louisiana Tech in Ruston, Louisiana.

The bride is the granddaughter of Bernice Roberts and the late Leroy Roberts, of Weatherford, and Wanda Brian and the late William Ross Brian, of Weatherford.

The groom is the grandson of Early Lyles and the late Susie Bell Lyles, of Natchez, Mississippi, and Luther and Theresa Cain, of Natchez.

    Rev. Stephen Schmidt has been named as senior pastor of First United Methodist Church, Weatherford. He previously served for 12 years at Grace United Methodist Church in Copperas Cove. In all, Rev. Schmidt has spent over 30 years as a Methodist minister.

    Marlysia Earls is a Texas state finalist in the Junior Teen Division of the National American Miss Pageant to be  held July 13 and 14 in Addison. If chosen, she will compete in the national competition held in Anaheim, California, in November. Marlysia will be starting her junior year at Weatherford High School in the fall.

    WEATHERFORD — Grace House has awarded the second annual Pure Truth Scholarship to four deserving Parker County graduates – Courtney Cox, graduate of Weatherford High School; Amy Garcia, graduate of Peaster High School; Dylan Burton, graduate of Millsap High School; and Mitchell Coker, graduate of Millsap High School. Twenty-two Parker County seniors applied for the character-based scholarship, which focuses on the students’ active role in being a change agent for their peers.
