Glenns celebrate golden anniversary

Weatherford Democrat

— Bob and Carolyn (Rhoten) Glenn are celebrating 50 years of marriage.

They were married Feb. 22, 1964, at Greenwood Baptist Church in Parker County.

The couple will be honored by their children, sons Joey Glenn, of Waco, and Jimmy Glenn, of Weatherford, and daughter, Jill Ann Glenn-Dunegan, of Midlothian, 2-4 p.m. this Sunday afternoon at North Side Baptist Church with a church-wide reception in the Fellowship Hall.

Plans are to host the original wedding party that special day, 50 years ago, with Pastor Bob Ross, of Oklahoma City; best man Phil Bradford, of Weatherford, and maid of honor Dorothy Baker-Davis, of Lewisville.

A longtime banker and civic leader of Weatherford, Bob is currently executive vice president at Plains Capital Bank in Weatherford. Has served and fulfilled numerous civic related commitments, all the while making time for his immediate family as well as his longtime extended church family, North Side Baptist.

When not spoiling her four grandkids, Carolyn spends much of her time with her Sunday school “Glory” class activities, weekly Bible studies, sewing prayer quilts and other church-related ministries for North Side Baptist. Carolyn also spends a great deal of time serving as “matriarch” of the Shelby family of Parker County. Carolyn’s sister, Jackie Rhoten, summarizes Carolyn as the “glue”

that keeps the extended family together as well as informed.
