Turpin, Huffman married in Chandor Gardens ceremony

Sarah Kathryn Turpin, of Weatherford, and Shane Jared Huffman, of Carrollton, were united in marriage the evening of Saturday, March 23, 2013.

The double-ring ceremony was performed at Chandor Gardens and officiated by Pastor Philip Pedroza. Music for the service was provided by Laurel McConkey, vocalist and harpist, and Brian Walker, trumpeter. Following the ceremony, a reception honoring the couple was held also at Chandor Gardens, where guests enjoyed dinner and dancing. On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Joe T. Garcia’s.   

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Turpin Sr., of Weatherford. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Kostohryz Sr., of Fort Worth, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Turpin, of Weatherford.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jaye Huffman, of Carrollton. He is grandson of Mary Anne Campbell and the late John Campbell and Irene Huffman and the late Jack Huffman, all of Farmers Branch. 

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride chose an Alencon pearl lace gown designed by Anne Barge. The gown featured a fitted silhouette with a sweetheart neckline and trumpet flared skirt and was embellished with a crystal-beaded belt. To complete her ensemble, Sarah wore a custom-made veil using her mother’s wedding headpiece. The bride carried an assorted bouquet of calla lilies, peonies and roses.

Holly Turpin, of Dallas, and Taylor Turpin, of Norman, Okla., served as their sister’s maids of honor.  Bridesmaids were Carolyn Cantu, of San Francisco, Camille Lev, of Fort Worth, Meredith Maulsby, of Austin, Katy Slayton, of Weatherford, and Megan Smith and Mary Catherine Unis, both of Dallas. Sarah’s flower girls were Eleanor Canon, Avery Kostohryz and Julia Smartt. 

The bridegroom’s best man was Josh Huffman, of Little Rock, Ark., brother of the groom. His groomsmen were Drew Huffman, brother of the groom, and Tucker Koch, both of Austin, Collen Meyer, Anthony Mungioli and Kelly West, all of Dallas, Trey Schonter, of Houston, and Douglas Turpin Jr., brother of the bride, of Weatherford. Shane’s ushers included Brady Davis and Jared Davis, both of Norman, and Justin Henry, of Oklahoma City. Ring bearers were Thomas Kostohryz, Charlie Rosell, Jimmy Rosell, Drew Smartt and Clifton Smartt.
