Branch’s celebrate 50 years of marriage

Robert (Bob) and Shirley Branch celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 27, 2014. They were married in Mineral Wells in 1964, and currently reside in Weatherford.

Their children include sons, Mike Branch (deceased), Don Branch of Weatherford; daughters, Theresa Branch Stuhff, of Mineral Wells, Perri Branch Long, of Graford and Karen Branch, of Weatherford. Grandchildren are Jamie Acuff, Michael and Stephen Branch, Melissa Stuhff, Ethan Niemann and Rebekah Long. Great-grandchildren include Tavis Acuff, Paige and Karley McCarthy, Cooper and Avery Branch and Roman and Clark Branch.

Bob retired from the military in 1970 after 21 years of service. He had several successful careers over the years. He also served numerous years in the ministry retiring after pastoring at Ballew Springs Baptist Church and SE First Baptist Church in Mineral Wells. He loves spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and gardening. Shirley has been a homemaker and great source of support for her family and friends. Her favorite passion is “loving on” and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They are active members of Northside Baptist Church.

A family dinner and reception was held on Saturday, March 29, 2014.

Rejoicing with the couple were the bride’s parents, Roger and Brenda Dukeman; brother, James Dukeman; and grandmother, Lois Davenport. Also celebrating the couple were the parents of the groom, Dale and Robbin Damerau; sister, Courtney Damerau; brother, Cayden Damerau; and grandparents, Larry and Joyce Damerau, Lorrine Damerau and Robert and Alice Courtney.

    Rev. Stephen Schmidt has been named as senior pastor of First United Methodist Church, Weatherford. He previously served for 12 years at Grace United Methodist Church in Copperas Cove. In all, Rev. Schmidt has spent over 30 years as a Methodist minister.

    Marlysia Earls is a Texas state finalist in the Junior Teen Division of the National American Miss Pageant to be  held July 13 and 14 in Addison. If chosen, she will compete in the national competition held in Anaheim, California, in November. Marlysia will be starting her junior year at Weatherford High School in the fall.
