This year’s annual Pancake Supper a flippin' success

WEATHERFORD — The Rotary Club of Weatherford fed more than 1,500 people at its 52nd annual Pancake Supper fundraiser recently.

Money from the annual dinner is used for scholarships to local students as well as benefiting other nonprofit organizations in the area.

The amount of scholarships has totaled more than $50,000 in the past five years.

The club’s Rotarian of the Year for 2007, Dr. Joe Birmingham, chaired the event with many volunteer helpers from the Rotary Club of Weatherford and the Interact Club of Weatherford High School.

The event also featured a silent auction with more than 150 items on display.

“Our Pancake Supper would not be such a success without the help of our sponsors, the businesses that donate the silent auction items and our wonderful club members,” said Birmingham.
