AUSTIN — Representative Phil King (R-Weatherford) testified in front of two panels on water issues affecting the constituents of District 61 this week.
The first panel to hear King’s testimony was the House Committee on Energy Resources where he testified on the urgent need to develop recycling methods for water used to frac gas wells to avoid the continued loss of groundwater in Parker and Wise counties.
The other panel King spoke to was the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
King’s testimony to TCEQ was in objection to the water rate increase by the private water corporation, Aqua Texas, in the Shale Creek Subdivision near Rhome.
