Authorities confirmed Ryan Hart, 20, of Cresson, was killed at approximately 4:30 a.m. Friday when the car he was driving collided with a semi tractor-trailer a short distance east of Hudson Oaks.

Witnesses told investigators a 2000 model, two-door Honda Civic was traveling west near Exit 415 on Interstate 20. According to witness reports, the vehicle turned around and started traveling east, remaining on the west-bound side of the interstate.

The Civic, driven by Hart, collided with the rear dual tires of a tractor-trailer traveling in the middle, west-bound lane.

Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Gene Hanson said the driver of the tractor-trailer told investigators he saw a car coming at him and swerved, but was unable to avoid the collision.

Hanson said there was no apparent evidence of intoxication. A final determination will depend on the results of a blood test.

Hanson confirmed no other injuries were reported.
