Extra hours scheduled for early voting

Early voting for county municipal and school elections began Monday and continues through May 6.

Voters may take advantage of extended hours at all voting locations today and Wednesday as all six balloting venues will be open until 8 p.m.

Voting takes place at the Parker County Annex on Santa Fe Drive, Springtown City Hall, Peaster Middle School, Hudson Oaks City Hall, the Willow Park Municipal Building and the Aledo ISD administration building.

Normal voting hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Contested races within the county include the mayoral and city council elections in Weatherford, a pair of school board races and $65 million in bond proposals in Aledo’s school district, and a mayoral election in Aledo.

In addition, voters will decide on representation on the county hospital district board, a $35 million school bond and school board members in Springtown, the extension of boundaries for the sale of beer and wine in Hudson Oaks, the adoption of a quarter-cent sales and use tax in Sanctuary, and a pair of city council slots in Willow Park.

Election day is May 10.
