About 35 grams of methamphetamine was confiscated during the execution of a warrant in the 70 block of Greenbranch Road in north Parker County.
Sunday, Weatherford-Parker County Special Crimes Unit investigators carried out an outstanding felony warrant for Walter Christopher Beard, 30, of Lipan.
Beard was wanted for possession of a controlled substance charge out of Tyler, Texas, in Smith County.
Arrest affidavits stated unit investigators made entry into the residence and arrested Beard and also detained three others for various drug charges after observing narcotics and drug paraphernalia in plain view.
Those arrested included Beard, Amber Danielle Burchfield, 30, of Azle, and Carl Ray Gumfory, 53, of Weatherford.
Investigators said when they saw the one and one-quarter ounces of suspected methamphetamine, they also observed digital scales, meth pipes and numerous plastic baggies, and obtained a search warrant for the premises.
During the execution of the search warrant, unit members recovered about 31 grams of the suspected substance believed to be in Beard’s possession and an additional four grams believed to belong to Burchfield and Gumfory.
Beard was transported to the Parker County Justice Center where as of press time, he remained in custody. He was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, under 200 grams. And with the Smith County warrant for possession of a controlled substance, his bond was set at $72,000.
Also as of press time, Burchfield remained incarcerated on charges of possession of controlled substance, under four grams. Her bail was set at $10,000.
Gumfory remains in custody on charges of possession of controlled substance, under one gram. His bail was set at $5,000.
Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said each of the cases would be routinely referred to the grand jury after lab analysis of the suspected meth is completed.
