Oscar Beauchamp Black III, 59, reported to La Tuna, a federal correctional institution outside El Paso, Tuesday, according to a spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Black pleaded guilty in May 2008, to an information charging one count of mail fraud. He was sentenced to 75 months in prison and ordered to pay $9,669,697.49 in restitution.
Black was ordered to surrender to the Federal Bureau of Prisons Tuesday.
La Tuna is located on the Texas and New Mexico border, 12 miles north of the city limits of El Paso, off Interstate 10, and on State Highway 20.
Social visits to the facility are regularly scheduled from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and all federal holidays.
