Deputies jail Oklahoma man on parole, drug charges

Parker County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 33-year-old Duncan, Okla., man Wednesday night on charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and violation of parole, stemming from a disturbance call near Peaster July 9.

According to Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler, deputies were dispatched to a convenience store in the 6200 block of FM 920 in western Parker County around 8:20 p.m.

The call was placed by a victim who stated two men refused to get out of her vehicle.

A sheriff’s report stated deputies arrived at the store and discovered the female complainant hiding inside the convenience store.

She told authorities one of the men allegedly accosted her with a pair of scissors when she told him to exit the vehicle.

Deputies removed both men from the car and later determined one of the men was wanted on a parole warrant issued by the State of Texas, along with a misdemeanor charge in Hood County for theft by check.

Deputies identified the man as Ricky Lee Ray who reportedly resides in Oklahoma. Ray was taken into custody without further incident.

Deputies searched the woman’s car and found suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia which authorities believed belong to Ray.

Sheriff’s Cpl. Joe Kilgore also discovered 11 plastic baggies in the car. Officials said three of the baggies contained more than four grams of suspected meth.

Deputies also confiscated electronic scales commonly used in the drug trade.

Ray was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance under 200 grams. His bail set at $50,500.

As of press time, he remains in custody on the parole violation and is waiting for a revocation hearing by parole officials.

The other man involved in the incident was not charged.
