After 10 years in business, Teskey’s Saddle Shop is joining forces with Equine Sports Medicine and Surgery for a day-long western bash.
From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, the two businesses will host the Equine Expo, a celebration for the whole family.
Kids can compete in roping dummy and stick horse competitions, or bring ailing toys in for a “Teddy Bear surgery” in the ESMS operation rooms.
Tours of the medical facility will be offered for adults.
The expo will also feature Radar, the world’s tallest living horse, and exhibitions by trick horses and the local chapter of the Cowboy Mounted Shooting club.
Gift bags will be given to the first 1,000 visitors and door prizes such as boots and supplies will be raffled hourly.
Admission to the expo is free, and more than 40 vendors will set up shop for the day-long event.
“We just want to do something for our customers and community,” tack store manager Dyana Stover said. “We wanted to celebrate the horse and give our customers a thank-you.”
Teskey’s is located south of Interstate 20 on Tin Top Road.
