Bus driver arrested for indecency with a child

FORT WORTH - A former Aledo school bus driver accused of indecency with a child was arrested by Azle police Thursday.

Eugene Taylor, 59, was arrested at his Fort Worth home. According to published reports, Taylor arrived home, saw the police and tried to flee.

Taylor worked as a driver for Dallas County Schools, an independent agency which provides bus transportation services to area schools, including Aledo.

According to authorities, Taylor, who knew the victim because she was a rider on his regular bus route. The night of the incident, the victim accepted a ride to the Aledo-Azle football game in Azle from Taylor, who was moving band equipment.

Police report Taylor made advances toward the 15-year-old girl, and had physical contact with her inside the vehicle after they arrived at the game.

Indecency with a child, a second-degree felony, carries a two-to-ten-year prison sentence and a fine of up to $10,00.

Taylor, who was previously arrested for assault with intent to murder in Bexar County, is being held at the Azle jail on $75,000 bond.
