2007 Fantasy Forest Christmas tree decorating contest taking applications

Weatherford’s annual Christmas on the Square is less than six weeks away. Now is the time to get in on the annual rivalry known as the Fantasy Forest Decorating Competition.

Local clubs or organizations can raise money and support this event at the same time. To enter, fill out an application, decide what your theme will be and purchase the necessary items to decorate your tree.

Decorated trees will be displayed at City Hall. The public will bid on your tree in a silent auction as well as vote for a People’s Choice winner. The winning organization will receive the top bid amount and the People’s Choice winner will receive $150.

The deadline for registration is 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14. To enter, call (817) 598-4124, stop by 119 Palo Pinto or visit the Web site at www.weatherfordparks.com for more information.
