Three arrested after meth investigation

Barry Dwight Jackson, 30, and Linda Ann Rachal, 20, both of Azle, were arrested Tuesday after

Weatherford-Parker County Special Crimes investigators and Fugitive Apprehension deputies served a search warrant at a home in Azle.

Authorities executed a narcotics search warrant in the 1900 block of Kay Drive and recovered a substantial amount of methamphetamine and drug-related items.

Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said the raid was conducted by SCU investigators with the help of Azle Police regarding suspected narcotics activity at the premises.

A sheriff’s report indicated the warrant was issued after an investigation led to the residence. The warrant was served around 4 p.m. where originally five suspects were detained in the home.

A small black canvas camera bag was found in the shorts pocket of one of the suspects.

Inside the bag was two separate bundles of the suspected meth. An arrest affidavit stated investigators recovered about 10 grams of the drug along with $800 in currency, a handgun and numerous drug paraphernalia items.

Decatur Police also assisted in the Special Crimes investigation, tracing a home computer and printer, which were seized in the raid.

An SCU investigator said officials believe the computer system contained information belonging to the Church of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur, which was burglarized March 8. Investigators also believe the computer equipment belongs to the church.

Wise County authorities have taken over the investigation for the burglary and will determine if additional charges will be filed.

Jackson, who has two prior charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, over four and under 200 grams. His bail was set at $30,000. As of press time, he remained in custody at the Parker County Justice Center.

Rachal, who has prior charges of possession of dangerous drugs, was charged with another count of possession of dangerous drugs and a bond surrender. She had an outstanding drug warrant issued by Parker County stemming from an April arrest. As of press time, she remained in custody at the Parker County Justice Center on a $4,000 bond.

A third unnamed suspect was also taken into custody for outstanding traffic warrants.

Fowler said the case would be presented to the grand jury after formal lab analysis on the confiscated drugs were complete.
