Deputies seek fleeing cyclist

A Parker County Sheriff’s Deputy terminated a pursuit Monday evening for his own safety and the safety of other motorists when a motorcycle fled from him.
A Sheriff’s official said the deputy was running radar in Azle when he spotted the motorcycle and tried to stop him around 9:30 p.m.
The suspect escaped by topping speeds of more than 115 miles per hour during the chase in the 1600 block of Northwest Parkway.
The deputy lost the driver on Flatrock Road when he made the decision to terminate the pursuit.
The motorcycle was later found on Flatrock Road near Baughman Hill Road “crashed out” with the driver missing from the scene.
Officials said no hospitals reported an accident victim entering an emergency room during the evening.
The driver has not been located, and the motorcycle was towed from the scene. No arrest has been made in the case.
The deputy ran the license plate number of the motorcycle through a database and authorities expect to question the registered owner.
Officilas said the owner has not been named as a suspect and the case is still under investigation.
